High School Musical on Channel 5 just now was like a bloody karaoke. I know they call it a 'sing- a- long', but all that's missing is the little red ball bouncing on the words and a mike. Can someone please explain to me what the hell walt disney has turned into?
What happened to good old mickey mouse? Oops, I guess kids nowadays are too sophisticated for simple cartoons. Even kiddy shows (yes, kiddy. it's disney, come on.) have to be so hollywood- ified that it isn't even innocent even more. Yes, and people question why kids are growing up too fast.
The movie is such a rip-pff Grease. Grease is like the epitome of movies during the seventies. Everyone informed knows grease lightning. sia la. The songs and the lyrics were actually cool and not wannabe politically correct. It is ORIGINAL. HSM is just a lousy mock up cos the stuff disney and nickelodean produces for kids nowadays are just so seh. It's just all so repetitive. And seriously, the things they produce are just cool, like engaging, but not smart, like intellectual. Look at HSM songs for instance:
Why am I feeling so wrong
My head's in the game
But my heart's in the song
She makes this feel so right
(SPOKEN)
Should I go for it
Better shake this,
yikes!Look at it this way, which jock would use 'yikes' you tell me? whatever with an F seems more like it. The word 'yikes' just makes me picture an adult sitting at a desk, penning the words down. Not that cool if you ask me.
Plus, what is wrong with these people with coming up with a sequel. omg. like why are they exploiting consumers with their pathetic, lame, unoriginal ideas in creating another movie? oh yea, cos they know that people are bound to buy into the whole concept of the cinderella story. And whatthehell if they're gonna make it a trilogy. I"ll so watch it if Troy gets Gabriella pregnant, which is entirely possible if they were to reflect the truth in the society. But heck, this is just another modern day fairytale.
But hey, I"m not saying that this movie is ENTIRELY bad, 'cos ironically, I do admit, I enjoyed it and I can sing the songs. The dancers were good, the fact is that America DOES HAVE talent. Also, who doesn't like a bit of make believe every once in a while?
Ack, I have so much more against this whole concept, but it's late and doesn't really matter if anyone reads this. so yea, whatever.
